Two just-graduated officers, Colin Sullivan and Billy Costigan, from Massachusetts State Police Academy follow opposite sides of the law: Colin Sullivan is promoted in the Massachusetts State Police and becomes the mole and informer of Frank Costello. Billy Costigan is asked by Captain Queenan and the abusive Staff Sergeant Dignam to become an undercover agent, and to get enough evidences against the Irish mobster Frank Costello to arrest him. Each police officer gives his best effort trying to disclose the identity of the other.

In 1920s Los Angeles, stuntman Roy Walker is in a hospital, bedridden and paralyzed after a jump he took in his first film. This is a wonderful story of love of two unnamed people who lived their lives lost in the city of Dublin, before meeting each other. She is unable to find herself in this big new city. She plays piano looking for part time jobs and bringing up her only little child. He is a musician who is unable to show his huge talent to everyone. His job is vacuum cleaner fixing and his hobby is to write songs and to sing them on the streets at night. But if he had enough courage to put a demo disc together and to send in to a studio in London, he would become the happiest man in the world. At 480 BC, at the mountain pass of Thermopylae, there was a clash between the allied Greek Cities army and the aggressive Persian horde. It is now called The Battle of Thermopylae. Severely outnumbered Greeks held their lines in the supposedly most famous last stands of our history. King Xerxes of Persia, who had more than 170,000 men in his army, led a great portion of it – well over 100,000 men – to conquer Greek city-states, and met resistance in face of no more than 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians and some Helot (slave) soldiers. For 10 days Xerxes tried to convince King Leonidas of Sparta to stand away or surrender, but did not succeed in that and decided to move forward. The battle raged for 3 days, and the outcome was still uncertain, until a local shepherds Ephialtes agreed to give away the location of a secret path around the Thermopylae to Persians, which resulted in Spartan defeat. In the end, all 300 Spartans were dead, but not a single one have surrendered.

Slevin is unlucky: his house is under a seal, his girl-friend starts dating with another man. His friend Nick leaves New-York and suggests Slevin to live in his empty flat. At this time a criminal known as the Boss wants to settle a score with his ex-partner Rabbi for his son’s murder and in revenge to kill his successor.
