Three men pursue, often at the expense of others, information about the location of a buried treasure of coins. The first character introduced in the movie is Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez (the Ugly) - called Tuco, who has a bounty on his head for numerous crimes. Tuco has a partnership with Blondie (the Good) in which the latter turns him in for the reward money which the two then split after Blondie saves Tuco from hanging at the last moment. Meanwhile, a third character called Angel Eyes (the Bad) has learned of a hidden trunk of gold owned by a Confederate soldier named Bill Carson. Against the backdrop of the Civil War, they search for a fortune in gold buried in a graveyard. Dan Evans is a veteran of the Civil War and he owns a small rancho in the area where villain Ben Wade and his band are terrorizing everyone. When Dan Evans goes to Bisbee he becomes a witness of a stagecoach robbery captained by Ben Wade. Soon after this robbery the criminal gets caught by the police and somebody has to convoy him to the closest train station where he will be transferred to Yuma prison. 3:10 is the departure time of the train and Dan needs to escort Ben there by this time if he wants to get his $200 reward. Dan also wants to prove his young son that he is a real man and he is still able to handle something more dangerous that his rancho. The operation is a top secret and nobody is supposed to know about it, in fact Ben Wade’s friends figure out the plans of the police and they start hunting Dan and Ben. Besides there are some local Indian tribes hanging out in the area and it seems like it’s not possible to run away, but Dan will try!
