During a dust storm WALL-E rescues Eve, takes her to his home and shows her a living plant he found amongst the trash which causes her automated systems to store the plant inside her body, activate a homing beacon for her ship, and shut down.WALL-E, doesn't understand what has happened to his new friend, but true to his love and in spite of her unresponsiveness, he takes care of her. One day a massive ship returns to collect Eve, WALL-E, out of love or loneliness, clings to the hull of the ship to rescue Eve. The ship arrives back at a fully automated luxury starliner, which is carrying all of the humans who evacuated Earth 700 years earlier. It becomes apparent that after centuries of living in such conditions and relying on the ship's automated systems, the human passengers suffer from obesity. When the auto-pilot computer, functioning on hastily given instructions sent many centuries before, tries to prevent the people of Earth from returning, by stealing the plant, WALL-E, Eve, the stout captain, and a band of broken robots organize a revolt.
