Three men pursue, often at the expense of others, information about the location of a buried treasure of coins. The first character introduced in the movie is Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez (the Ugly) - called Tuco, who has a bounty on his head for numerous crimes. Tuco has a partnership with Blondie (the Good) in which the latter turns him in for the reward money which the two then split after Blondie saves Tuco from hanging at the last moment. Against the backdrop of the Civil War, they search for a fortune in gold buried in a graveyard. Two young, charming and well-off American girls - smart brunette Vicky and dreamy and sexually adventurous blonde Christina – have their summer vacations in Barcelona. One of the girls is planning to finish her useless degree work concerning "The Curious Catalan Heart", the other - to recover from another unsuccessful love affair. Both are walking open-mouthed along the streets, clicking their cameras and listening to the tanned virtuosi of the Spanish guitar. Late at night they meet in the restaurant Juan Antonio, a local abstract artist who recently divorced his wife. In a one short sentence he tells them that life is too short to waste it, and therefore they immediately need to visit the town of Oviedo, to have a look at the marvelous statue of the crucified Christ there, to eat delicious food, to drink good wine and to make a threesome sex. Vicky, who has in New York quite successful and reliable groom, shows contempt to the insolent fellow while Christina rushes into the hell with impeccable decision. The relationships in a love triangle become even more complicated when Antonio’s ex-wife enters this game. She has a very explosive temper and seems not to abandon her rights to ex-husband.

The story revolves around Eric Bishop, the big football fan and the postman of the Manchester football club. Life is not simple for him; everything goes not as he wants.
