This motion picture tells a story about three people who are, upon the first glance, nothing other than ordinary. They are two passengers (a man and a woman) and a conductor of a train moving through the night. However, the people's mediocrity ends when the circumstances turn them into sanguineous brutes. Together with the conductor, these two notice that their compartment mate has suddenly stopped showing any stirrings of life. After a close consideration of the body the characters decide he has most probably poisoned himself with pills and alcohol. There is a curious-looking box near the stiff, and when it is opened, plenty of rough diamonds are revealed. The three start making evil plans regarding destroying the evidence and sharing the treasure. The poor body gets dissected and thrown out as the train crosses the bridge... But it is only human nature to start suspecting each other! What if someone wants to off the others and get rid of them in the same way? And then have all the diamonds to himself? Or herself? Women can be just as dangerous! The characters start following each other, unwillingly pulling in the other passengers and representatives of the train staff. The all-consuming paranoia instigates a succession of murders, and the night train becomes deadly...
