Mia, a foul-mouthed, stroppy fifteen-year-old, lives on an Essex estate with her tarty mother, Joanne, and precocious little sister Tyler. She has been excluded from school and is awaiting admission to a referrals unit and spends her days aimlessly. She begins an uneasy friendship with Joanne's handsome, extrovert Irish boyfriend, Connor, who encourages her one interest, dancing. What could go wrong?

Daniel is your average good guy, already married, yet still living with his father. The old man dies close to the beginning of the film, and now it's Daniel's job to organize the funeral. The sad day comes, and the young man is ready to be suitably grave and mournful with all the relatives and some of his father's friends. However, it isn't easy to preserve his dignity in this situation. First, the undertaker obviously does not know how to do his job. Second, Daniel's nasty famous brother comes back from the USA for the funeral. Third, Daniel's cousin has a fiance – and she has no mind, or else why would she take drugs by accident? And then there's this moron who ignores the sadness of the event in order to win back his old love for the night... only she's getting married to another man very soon! Also, let us not forget about the old uncle, who's not only handicapped, but has a persona that's a true pain in the neck, too. Oh – and does anybody know who's that dwarf among the guests?
